Join Us for Evensong on Sunday, 3 November

The choir will sing a service of Choral Evensong at 5:00pm on Sunday, November 3rd. The choir will sing the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D by George Dyson (1883-1964). Dyson’s setting of the evening service is both exciting and beautiful. Like his predecessors Parry and Stanford, Dyson’s approach to text setting is imaginative and his harmonic vocabulary is bold. The Preces and Suffrages are written by local composer Richard Webster, Director of Music at Trinity Church in Boston.

The hymns and the anthem will reflect the themes of All Saints’ Day. Philip Stopford’s anthem In My Father’s House is thoughtful and contemplative setting of the text from John 14. This anthem was given to Parish of the Epiphany last spring in memory of Bob Warner and Sylvia Speck Warner Vessels, the Brother and Mother of Ellen Warner Wilson by Ellen’s close friends Susan Brown, Debbie Coles Sullivan, Midge Woolsey, and john Strybos.
