Creation Care Author Preaching on 22 November

The Rev. Dr. Leah Schade (who co-authored ‘Rooted & Rising’ with Margaret Bullitt-Jonas) will be preaching and leading the forum Sunday, 22 November. As an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Leah has served congregations in rural, urban, and suburban settings. She is a noted author on theological and environmental topics. The Rev, Schade has had deep experience in working with parishioners of all political perspectives and is the author of Preaching in the Purple Zone: Ministry in the Red-Blue Divide. She’s served as a climate activist, and advocate for environmental justice issues. She is also the “EcoPreacher” blogger for Patheos.com.

At the Zoom Forum she’ll be leading a conversation entitled: Beyond ‘Creation Care’: Clarity, Compliance, Compassion, and Commitment

She’ll make the case that we need to expand and deepen our understanding of the phrase “Creation Care” so that it conveys the urgency needed to act on what is happening. She will discuss the meaning of Creation Clarity, Compliance, Compassion and Commitment, and will explore what they might entail for the church responding to the climate crisis.
