This Sunday we are combining two of Epiphany’s beloved fall traditions: the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Cider Fest!
Please plan to drive by the Parish of the Epiphany this Sunday (November 15) between 1:00 and 3:00pm. You can hand your food drive donations out the window of your vehicle (or staff members can lift them from your trunk), and you'll receive a package of fresh baked cider donuts to bring home and enjoy during our Zoom “Cider Fest” gathering at 4:00pm. See friendly faces, catch up with old friends, and celebrate the goodness of God together as a church family--even if you can't wait until 4:00pm to eat those warm, delicious Wilson's Farm donuts!
Your non-perishable food donations will be given to the Council of Social Concern’s Thanksgiving food drive (see list of needed items below). The Council for Social Concern provides Thanksgiving dinners to community members in need, as well as food pantry services and early education/child care programs all year long. The need is great this year.
Can't drive by the church this Sunday? You can drop food donations any time during daylight hours at the following homes:
Arlington/Winchester Border: 15 Parker Rd, Arlington
Please place bags on the front porch, to the far right side of the mailbox on the house (please don’t block mailbox).
Reading: 47 Oak St, Reading
Please park in front and place donations on screened-in porch.
Winchester: 101 Church Street, Winchester
Please place bags in front of Garage at end of driveway.
Winchester: 7 Brooks Street, Winchester
Please leave food donations on either porch.
Grocery gift cards can also be mailed to the church (we can accept these until November 20!).
List of Needed Food Items
Fruit juices (Apple, Cranberry, Grape)
Large boxes of instant mashed potatoes
Packages of stuffing mix
Packages of rice or rice preparation mix
Cans of green beans
Cans of peas
Cans of corn
Cans of yams
Jars of turkey or chicken gravy

Cans of chicken broth
Packages of bread, cake, or brownie mixes
Packages of jello or pudding

Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
Grocery gift cards in $10, $20, or $30 amounts are also needed, so that families can buy turkeys and other perishables. Please clearly mark the dollar amount of the gift card on the card; this saves the food pantry volunteers from needing to visit the store to check the amount before handing out the gift cards. Gift cards can be accepted through November 20. If the gift card is included with grocery items, please clip the card to the top of the bag so that it can be seen and not misplaced.
Any questions, please reach out to our food drive coordinator, Ellen Rockefeller r, or our Cider Fest coordinator, Bryn Hollenbeck.
Thank you!
