And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
Epiphany has a passionate and active parish eager to make a difference in the world. In one year alone, 3 teams traveled to El Hogar in Honduras, one group to Haiti and another group to Rwanda. See below for some of the mission trips we have been on recently. We hope you will join us on one or more of them !
Haiti Medical Mission
In April 2011, five parishioners, led by Dr. Linda Brown, carried 500 lbs of medications in 10 suitcases to Leogane, Haiti on a one-week medical mission from Epiphany. The team stayed in the guesthouse at the Episcopal L’Hopital de Ste Croix in Leogane. Each day they loaded duffles filled with medications into a truck and were driven to a rural village site to set up a mobile clinic. Over 500 very poor patients were seen over the five days. That mission was the beginning of our relationship with medical care in Leogane. Medical mission teams have gone each year since then with their bags of medications to run mobile clinics. The 2017 trip had 18 team members, saw 1143 patients and supplied medications, vitamins, toothbrushes and toothpaste to all, as well as reading glasses and sun glasses to those who needed them and condoms to those who wanted them. Each family was given a beautiful fabric bags. The team works with Haitian colleagues who are now friends: a doctor, dentist and dental assistant, as well as 13 translators, providing much needed employment. For more information and to read blogs describing recent Haiti Medical Mission Team experiences please visit the Haiti Mobile Medical Mission website.
The 2019 Haiti Medical Mission was cancelled due to civic unrest in Haiti. We hope that we will be able to travel in 2020.
