Finding Ourselves in the Bible

One of the gifts of being a part of a community of faith is the ability to situate ourselves in a larger story. Human relationship is a network of community. I am a friend. I am a sibling. I am a spouse. I am a parent. I am a citizen. I am a teammate. I am a beloved child of God. It could be almost anything—we are always placing ourselves within a larger story. This is good during times of struggle, challenge, division, or frustration. It’s a gift to know that we are not alone in this life and that our story is beautiful on its own, but also deeply a part of something more than ourselves.

Sharing Ash Wednesday Wednesday, 17 February

We are finding a way forward in faith, hope, and love beginning with Ash Wednesday.
Each household is invited to pick-up consecrated bread and wine, ashes, and a service bulletin for Ash Wednesday in preparation for our live- streamed service on February 17th. Pick-up will be at the Central Street door of the Church. We ask that you enter the semi-circle from the direction of Bacon St. and exit towards Church Street.

Parishioners are invited to drive-by the church tomorrow the 16th from 7:00-8:00pm or come to pick up a packet in the Parish Office on Wednesday, February 17 from 7:00-9:00am

Ash Wednesday worship will be available on  February 17th via Youtube so you can worship at a time that is convenient for you.

Adult Formation Lenten Series: The Psalms

The focus of this year’s Adult Christian Formation Lenten series is The Psalms, perhaps the most familiar and least appreciated book in the Bible. Over a period of five Sundays we will explore the 150 poems of praise, prayer, and prophecy. Click here for study guides to enhance your Lenten study.  Home sessions will meet via Zoom on various days of the week. Click here for more information and dates.

Lenten Series: The Psalms Home Groups

As with most other parts of our parish life, Lenten suppers will be re-imagined this year. There are four opportunities for you to join a weeknight zoom gathering to explore more deeply the information that is shared in Sunday's presentation. Diocesan Lenten Preaching Series
“Repentance 2021—Turning back to God here and now”

The invitation of Lent to repent and return to the Lord is the same every year, but we come to this invitation this year in the wake of the overlapping pandemics of COVID-19, racism, climate change and disinformation. The Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston invites everyone to take part in its annual Lenten Preaching Series, via Zoom, on Thursdays at noon throughout Lent.  Click here to see preachers and topics and to register for the Zoom link. The series begins on February 18th.

Lent and the Longing for God

The people of the Episcopal dioceses of Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts are invited to gather with one another for Lent and the Longing for God, a co-sponsored morning online retreat on Saturday, March 6 from 9:30am-noon, led by the Rev. Dr. Margaret Bullitt-Jonas. The retreat will invite participants to explore their own desires, as well as the desires of the One “to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid.” The program will include presentations and guided meditation, with options for solitary reflection or for small group conversation.
