Two Things of Note

The Nursery Opens this Sunday: Babies and Toddlers, ages 0-3 years, can be dropped off in the nursery (Dewart Room) during the 10am service of worship, where our nursery caregivers will be ready to play and comfort. Little ones should be registered in order to drop off (see below). The nursery will be reserved for ages 0-3 during the 10am worship service. Please welcome our new paid nursery staff when you see them! Their names are Laura, Maya, and Linda.

Midweek is Mardi Gras: We will celebrate Mardi Gras and enjoy our annual Shrove Tuesday celebrations THIS Wednesday, February 15! Join us for a traditional Mardi Gras dinner, a pancake toss, and the Burning of the Palms liturgy as we prepare to enter Lent.

Pancake Toss of Yesteryear.

Nursery News: Childcare for Infants & Toddlers During 10am Worship

Our nursery opens this Sunday! Parents and guardians may drop off their young children -- ages 0-3 years -- in the Dewart Room during the 10am service. Our paid and experienced nursery caregivers will be ready to receive babies and toddlers beginning at 9:45am. Parents and guardians must pick up their children by 11:15am, and must remain in the building at all times.

Children need to be registered in order to be dropped off. This gives us important information about allergies, needs, and who may pick up your child. Please register here:

Nursery Care Registration

There may be weeks we need to limit the number of small children who can be dropped off, in a safe ratio to the number of caregivers we can schedule on any given Sunday. Registering your child does not reserve a spot on any given Sunday; drop off is first-come, first-serve. That said, we are optimistic that we have room for all who wish to be dropped off. If drop-off care fills, parents will still be welcome to spend time in the nursery with their babies or young toddlers during any and all services.

The nursery (the Dewart Family Room just down the hall from the sanctuary) is reserved for our youngest children, those ages 0-3 years of age, during the 10am service of worship. Older children are welcome in Church School, or if they need a break during worship, parents and guardians may spend time with them in Hadley Hall or the Suter Room (aka the library).

Remember, we love having babies and toddlers share in our worship! The movement, energy, and sounds of little ones are always welcomed and treasured. And, parents and caregivers need some quiet worship time, too. The nursery is here to give you choices.

Midweek: Mardi Gras and

the Burning of the Palms

This Coming Wednesday, February 15, please join us for a special Midweek celebration of Mardi Gras! We'll enjoy a home cooked meal (and special dessert!), make some carnival masks, and have our annual Pancake Toss. After all this celebration, we'll have a liturgy and Burning of the Palms as we move toward Lent.  Please join us from 6:15-7:30pm. All are welcome!

The menu will be:  jambalaya, vegan red beans and rice, pizza for the kids, and dessert for all.

Because School Vacation week occurs the following week, we are holding our traditional Shrove Tuesday & Mardi Gras observations early, on Wednesday, February 15. Ash Wednesday services are, of course, still on Wednesday, February 22.

Youth Hut Hike, June 2023: Please Reach Out to Janelle by February 12

Save the date for our Youth Hut Hike trip on June 26th-28th in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We will have a guide from the Appalachian Mountain Club and this will be an opportunity for community building while enjoying God’s creation. If interested, please let Janelle know of your initial interest by Feb. 12th. Email Janelle at jhiroshige@3crowns.org.

Exploring Our Faith: Class for Youth Continues February 12.

All youth (6th-12th grade) are invited to Exploring our Faith, Sundays after the 10am service. Pizza will be provided!

Epiphany 101: Intro to the Episcopal Church

On Sundays, February 12, adults are invited to join Rev. Nick in the Chapel at 9:00 am for this two-part series designed for inquirers and those interested in knowing more about the Episcopal Church and the life and ministry of the Parish of the Epiphany. For more details, contact Rev. Nick.  Bryn will provide childcare in the nursery from 9 to 9:45am; please let her know if you plan to bring children.

Change of Worship Schedule:
Word & Table Worship

Our monthly 5:00 pm worship service, which is called Word & Table, will be offered on varied Sundays in the coming months due to holidays and our high holy day of Easter. Please note the Sundays we will be having Word & Table this winter and spring: February 26, March 19, April 23, May 21. This casual, contemporary, and creative service is based on our familiar Episcopal liturgy and takes place in Hadley Hall. We invite you to come and bring a friend, as Word & Table is a wonderful space to welcome those seeking a spiritual home.

Clothing Drive for Malden Warming Center

The Malden Warming Center provides a warm and safe shelter for those experiencing homelessness during the winter months. They are currently on the lookout for these items:

  • Hoodies/Sweatshirts
  • Sweatpants
  • Coats
  • Winter Boots
  • Backpacks
  • Small or Medium Suitcases with wheels
  • Thermal Underwear

Let’s care for our unhoused neighbors! Leave donations in the back of the church in the shopping cart in the Nave until March 5th. Rev. Janelle is also gathering a group (ages 18+) to be trained to volunteer at the center. If interested, email Janelle. You can learn more about the Malden Warming center at maldenwarmingcenter.org
