Midweek on Wednesday, February 1: Dinner and Candlemas

Please join us this Wednesday for dinner and a celebration of Candlemas. We will enjoy a home-cooked meal together beginning at 6:15pm. At 7pm, we will engage in a special, intergenerational observance of Candlemas. All will have the opportunity to create a unique candle and then join in a short liturgy of prayer and music. During the cold and dark of Midwinter, this in an opportunity to gather as a community, renewing our strength as we bless candles for our homes and the candles we use in worship together.

Wednesday's menu includes baked ziti, salad, garlic bread, pizza (for the kids) and warm cookies.

All are welcome. Find nourishment and warmth at Midweek.

Nursery News: Efforts to Re-Establish Childcare for Infants & Toddlers During Worship

We love having babies and toddlers share in our worship. And, we know many families are looking forward to a church nursery where young ones (ages 3 and under) can be dropped off during the 10am Sunday morning worship. Parents and caregivers need some quiet worship time, too.

Hiring caregivers for the nursery for drop-off care has been difficult, especially in our post-pandemic employment environment. This is a difficulty shared by churches around our region. We are hopeful that we will be able to fill these paid positions in the near future, and we are actively interviewing potential caregivers.

When we are able to once again provide drop-off care, the nursery (the Dewart Family Room just down the hall from the sanctuary) will be reserved for our youngest children, those ages 0-3 years of age, during the 10am service of worship. We will likely need to limit the number of small children who can be dropped off on any given Sunday, in a safe ratio to the number of caregivers we can hire. Parents will still be welcome to spend time in the nursery with their babies or young toddlers during any and all services.

If you know of adults with childcare experience, great references, and interest in being part of our paid nursery team, including as substitutes and backup care, please have them reach out to Bryn (bhollenbeck@3crowns.org).

Additionally, if you are interested in being part of a volunteer roster to help in the nursery (perhaps monthly, or every-other month), please also reach out to Bryn. It is a wonderful way to serve our community, support our young parents, and spend time with really fun, really adorable little friends.

We will let you know as we make progress on these efforts. Thank you for your support!

Youth Hut Hike, June 2023: Please Reach Out to Janelle by February 12

We will have a guide from the Appalachian Mountain Club and this will be an opportunity for community building while enjoying God’s creation. If interested, please let Janelle know of your initial interest by Feb. 12th. Email Janelle at jhiroshige@3crowns.org.

Mission & Outreach Survey: Parents, Help Us Understand What Service Opportunities Interest You and Your Family

The Mission & Outreach group at Epiphany is currently in a season of discernment about where God might be calling us to next. We are taking some intentional time to hear from the greater parish community and exploring new partnerships in our community. This is an excellent time for you, as the families at Epiphany, to chime in about what you would like to be involved in when it comes to caring for our community. Please consider filling out this survey today as an act of compassion and justice.
