Parenting Project Grant Update: 4th Soil is Coming to Epiphany
This past week Bryn, Heather Keith-Lucas, and Pam Chester had the privilege of attending the kick-off and training for the 4th Soil Parenting Project, in Denver, CO. The Parish of the Epiphany was selected to participate in this four-year project as part of a grant with Vibrant Faith, funded through the Lilly Endowment. It was an amazing (and exhausting) three days of spiritual development, worship, learning and planning.
Parents, in the coming months (and years!) our steering team (which also includes Karen Fagan, Perry Haynsworth, and Ellen Wilson) will bring new programs to our community to support you in your parenting journey--whether you now have infants or teenagers--and in sharing your faith with your children in ways that will help build them up for a lifetime. We will begin with some listening projects this summer, and some new learning and community opportunities this fall.

Youth Boda Borg Outing: Friday, May 12
Back by popular demand!
Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to a program year finale at Boda Borg on Friday, May 12th. Boda Borg offers a series of "quests" in which small teams figure out clues in order to advance through challenges. We'll gather for pizza at the church at 5:00 pm, and carpool over to Boda Borg at 5:50 pm. We'll return to the church by 9:00 pm.
Sign-up here. Email Janelle with any questions.

Parish Weekend Away: Registration is Open
Registration for our Parish Weekend Away opened this past Sunday, and the response was strong. We have over 80 parishioners signed up already, ranging in age from toddlers to retirees.
If you can't come for the full weekend, please come for the day on Saturday. You can arrive that morning and join us for coffee, workshops, lunch, a myriad of afternoon activities (including canoeing, nature walks, social time in the lodges, and more), the popular adult social hour, and dinner. Stay as long into the evening as you'd like: we'll have our legendary square dance, cards and games, and a campfire and sing along.
We have plenty of overnight space available in our "camper" category of accommodations. This means you will be placed in cabins which have bunk beds, electricity, heat, and bathrooms. Camper cabins are a little less cushy than lodge rooms (mainly in terms of the bunk beds) but are still a comfortable and only mildly-campy option. Camper cabins, because of their size, will have at least five people per cabin. Our retreat team will thoughtfully match up families or individuals to share these cabins. (Or, if you've got a large family, you might get your own!)
Standard accommodations are currently fully booked, with the possible exception of one female adult space. If you would like to be placed on the waitlist for standard accommodations, please reach out to Bryn--she is tirelessly working to make more space.
For more information please visit 3crowns.org. Please register HERE.

An on-going and fairly incomprehensible (to grown-ups) game of sardines at the Parish Weekend Away, 2022. Our Elementary and Middle schoolers played together! For hours!

Church School Continues this Sunday
During the final month of classes, the Godly Play Class (preK-1st grade) will be learning about the life of Jesus, his parables, and Pentecost. The Story Makers Class (2nd-5th grade) will be introduced to the curriculum of Godly Play (bigger kid style) and learn about the history and organization of the Bible, an overview of the Old Testament, under-recognized (but fascinating!) Biblical personalities, and parables.
Spring Church School classes will be held: May 14 and May 21. Classes are held at 10am, during the first half of the 10am worship service, in the Upper Parish Hall (younger kids) and Church Library (older kids). Visitors and newcomers are always welcome! Reach out to Bryn with any questions. Our church school program year ends on Pentecost, which is May 28.

Childcare for Infants & Toddlers During 10am Worship for Ages 0-3
Our nursery is open! Parents and guardians may drop off their young children -- ages 0-3 years -- in the Dewart Room during the 10am service. Our paid and experienced nursery caregivers will be ready to receive babies and toddlers beginning at 9:45am. Parents and guardians must pick up their children by 11:15am, and must remain in the building at all times. Children need to be registered in our system (one-time registration) in order to be dropped off. This gives us important information about allergies, needs, and who may pick up your child. Please register here:
