There is no Zoom Sunday School on May 9 (but please check your bags!)

Dear friends,

What a hard year to parent this has been. Full of unknowns, constant shifts, "risk budgets," exhaustion, and a lot of big feelings. It was impossible to do it all perfectly. And that's okay: God knows you love your kids completely (and I think they know it, too). As we honor mothers and all parents this weekend, I wish you peace, grace, and a lovely celebration of how magnificent you all are.

A reminder that there is no Zoom Sunday School this weekend (but check your bags!). Also, I will be on vacation and not checking messages beginning this afternoon through May 15. I look forward to seeing the children for Zoom Sunday School again on Sunday, May 16.

Peace,

Bryn

Faith-at-Home Sunday School: No Zoom on May 9, but We'll See You Again on May 16!

There will not be Zoom Sunday School on May 9, which is Mothers' Day. But there is an envelope for at-home formation that day, which focuses on honoring all parents and caregivers. (Psst, if anyone forgot a Mother's Day gift from the kids, this envelope can help!)

We look forward to seeing everyone at 9:30am next Sunday, May 16, when we think about how important every person's ministry is in this world--young or old, small or tall!

Youth: Check Out this Bible Project Video

Remember talking about different words for "love" in the Bible, and how when we dig deep into them, we learn different things about the character of God and how we are called to live in this world? Well, there are even MORE words for love. Here's a great Bible Project video that looks at another.

Our Wednesday Check-Ins are Done for the Year, But We Hope to See You IN-PERSON on May 23

All-Church Creation Care: Please Join Us

The Sustainability & Creation Care ministry invites us all to ‘step in’ and get engaged in climate justice with our Sunday series, continuing May 9.  Zoom: 11:15am Sunday

We are called by God to be stewards of the earth, yet confronting climate change is so complex and the challenge is so daunting, it’s hard to know where to start. In this series, members of the parish discuss practical steps where we can have an impact.

Forum 3 (Sunday May 9): Being stewards of the earth - How the food you eat, healthy soil, and gardening can remove carbon from the air, and increase biodiversity.

Not everyone can install solar panels or drive an electric vehicle, but everyone can make wise decisions about the food we eat and how it’s grown. Laura Dike and Hannah Niswonger will share how their farming and gardening actually reduces carbon, increases the diversity of plants and animals and provides us with more delicious and healthy food. They’ll also share stories from personal experience of increasing biodiversity from sustainable gardening.

Barbara C. Harris Family Camp: Summer 2021 - Spaces Still Available!

The Barbara C. Harris Center invites you to unplug, relax and delight in the beauty of God’s creation. Enjoy a long weekend of delicious meals, arts & crafts, hikes, swimming, boating, field games, worship, s’mores and much, much more! Families may choose to stay in a private lodge room or cabin. Intergenerational and age-appropriate activities will be offered. Episcopal clergy from all over New England will serve as chaplains and lead Sunday’s outdoor Eucharist. Click here for more information.

(I've heard that this was really super last year. If you're considering going, please let me know! - Bryn)
