Dear friends,

This weekend we enter the season of Advent. This is one of the most fun and festive seasons in our liturgical (church) calendar. This Sunday our Church School begins a new Storymakers, all about light coming into darkness and the arrival of Jesus as a baby.

After worship and Church School, we invite all to make an Advent wreath during fellowship hour. We'll have fresh greens, candles, a guide, and extra frames. If you have your frame from prior years, please bring it along! I'll also be there with pageant sign-ups (see more below).

Sunday evening we hope everyone (young and old) will feel welcome at our Evening Worship for All Ages at 5pm in the Cloister. In this short service, we'll celebrate the beginning of Advent together.

And of course, our first Advent Midweek is this coming Wednesday evening. These gatherings are wonderful--food, fellowship, fun, and creative formation for all! If you haven't yet tried Midweek, please do. We would love to welcome you.

Warmly,

Bryn

The Christmas Pageant is Back: Mark Your Calendars for Sunday, December 19, at 10:00am.

Our in-person pageant will be during the 10:00am service of worship on Sunday, December 19. It will be live-streamed and available on YouTube, as all our Sunday worship services are.

Sign-ups are this Sunday. Please see Bryn during Fellowship Hour (which is also wreath making!), or if you won't be at church please email Bryn with your child's name, age, and part request.

    The parts this year are:

Readers (generally grades 3 and up; limited in number)

    Sheep

    Shepherds

    Angels

    Donkey (one)

Joseph & Mary (we get a lot of Mary requests, so please indicate a second choice)

Grown-ups, if you're willing to help with the pageant please email Bryn. We'll need help with rehearsals, costumes, and part practice.

Rehearsals are Sundays, December 5 and 12, at 11:15am. Masks are required. It will be a lot of fun!

Advent Evening Worship for All Ages: This Sunday, November 28, at 5pm

Please join us for a short, half-hour service of worship in the Cloister Garden or Hadley Hall, weather depending. ALL ages and all households are invited for this child-friendly, simple but meaningful time of singing, eucharist, creative prayer, and a homily.

    Midweek: This Wednesday, December 1

Please join us for a delicious dinner, a time with friends (old and new), and formation this coming Wednesday, December 1. Dinner for all (with indoor and outdoor seating) begins at 6:15pm. From 7:00-7:30pm the children are invited to a time of music and art with Craig and Bryn, while the grown-ups are invited to Upper Parish Hall for a Bible study with Rev. Nick.

This week's menu is: Pasta e Fagioli Soup (vegetarian pasta & bean soup), Salad, Bread, Pizza for the kids, and Cookies.

Bryn needs Arts Helpers for our December Midweeks. If you'd like to help (and play with our art materials), please sign up HERE.

We could also use help with the dinner preparations, serving, and clean up. Please sign up HERE

    What an Amazing Christmas Fair!

Our Christmas Fair was a huge success last weekend! We offer a huge thanks to the Fair co-chairs, Laura Krotky and Sara Post, as well as the dozens of volunteers who baked, knit, painted, donated, sorted, carried, sold, packed, cooked, organized, cleaned and did a hundred other jobs that needed to be done.

And thank you to all who came, shopped, ate, bid, and just spent some time enjoying this community.

The Changing Seasons & Indoor/Outdoor Programming: This Week's Update

Upper Parish Hall has proved to be a safe, comfortable, and fun space for our Church School. We will continue to meet in Upper Parish Hall, with breakout space in the Garrett, through the winter. We have high ceilings, air purifiers, many open windows, and room for social distancing (and movement!).

Masks that fit securely over the nose are required throughout the entire class. Please confirm with your child that they do not have any illness symptoms before joining us. Thank you!

Please always send your child with a warm coat, hat, and gloves, in case we're able to spend a little time outdoors.

Please know you are very welcome to email or call Bryn to talk about ideas or concerns as we continue to navigate formation during the pandemic. We are constantly reassessing and adjusting, and your input is critical as we do so.
