Dear friends,

This Sunday will be a fun day at Parish of the Epiphany, as we celebrate autumn with our annual Cider Fest.

We're also looking forward to being together for Church School, where we'll hear about Abraham's heroic rescue of his nephew Lot. (Have you noticed how often rescue is central to Bible stories and biblical encouragement? I've appreciated how my time with Abraham and Lot this week has encouraged me to ask how has my faith rescued me? and to offer prayers of gratitude.) This Sunday church schoolers will also make comics and even do a little science experiment.

Midweek continues this coming Wednesday, and we hope you can join us as we deepen our friendships and our faith. If you'd like to help, sign-ups are below. Thank you!

Peace,

Bryn

Please Join Us for Our Annual Cider Fest this Sunday

After the 10am service this Sunday please come to the Cloister Garden for fresh cider donuts, sticky apple cider, and a time of fellowship together. This is an October tradition at Parish of the Epiphany. Last year Cider Fest was drive-through; this year we hope you will grasp this opportunity to be together, outside in our lovely fall weather!

Outdoor Church School: Weather FAQs

We are loving our outdoor church school. Fresh air, fall leaves, and space to move--it's really perfect for healthy, active children! We are embracing being in creation together. But what about those less-than-perfect days?

Q: What happens if it's raining?

A: Light rain we are prepared for -- we've got tents! Drizzle isn't a problem, and over-night rain is fine too -- our ground is staying dry! Of course, heavy rain during Sunday morning, accompanied by wind, means we need to cancel in-person class. Nobody wants cold wet kids huddled together in the center of the tent! Email announcements about changes would come Saturday evening or Sunday morning by 9am. When we have sufficient warning, we'll send out a zoom link for a short online gathering from 9:15-9:30am instead.

Q: What about lightening or a sudden turn in weather?

A: If an unexpected turn in weather during Church School makes being outdoors unsafe or uncomfortable, children will be brought into Hadley Hall, masked and near the fresh air of the cloister doors, and parents will be alerted to please come collect them. Parents will get a text message and/or hear a service announcement.

Midweek: This Coming Wednesday, October 20

At 7pm we have music and arts programming for children preschool through 7th grade (outdoors), and a Bible study with Rev Nick (Upper Parish Hall) for teens and adults.
