Dear friends,

We had a wonderful, noisy, joyous first week of in-person church school last weekend! The turn-out was so good that we'll be spreading out a little this week and dividing up into age cohorts (all still in the Bishop Garden). We can always use more hands in our volunteer pool--whether to help teach or simply to help support. If you're interested in spending an occasional Sunday out in the garden with stories, crafts, and the most fun group of little Episcopalians you've ever seen, please email me and let's chat!

Also on the "wow, what a great turnout" theme: we need a few more helpers to keep Midweek running smoothly. In particular, I'm looking for someone (or two someones) to help me with the children's art project from 7-7:30pm. It is very fun and a little messy--the perfect combination. Please email me if you're interested.

We also need people who can come early to set tables; people to help serve at the buffet line (this is per pandemic protocols); and people to help clean up in the kitchen afterward. These jobs are listed in this sign-up genius

Isn't is fabulous to have so many "come and help!" sign-ups again? And noise, and spilled paints, and dishes? Thanks be to God. I hope to see you soon!

Peace,

Bryn

Church School Continues In-Person this Weekend

Please drop your child off in the Bishop Garden between 9:50 and 10:00am this Sunday. If your child isn't yet registered in our system, please take two minutes to do that now. This helps us have all our important information (allergies, cell phone numbers) in one place. Thank you!

As always, please remember:

  • To bring a mask.
  • To take your young child to the bathroom before drop-off.
  • To make sure your child has no illness symptoms.
  • To confirm with a teacher if your child is joining you for communion or remaining outside until the service ends.
Church School Registration

Faith-at-Home Registration is Still Available!

At-home formation is family-centered and family-led. We’ll give you the same materials we’re using for in-person church school, as well as weekly emails with support like background information and questions to ask, and periodic paper mailings for your child. If in-person church attendance doesn’t work for your family this fall, or if your family wants to sit together through the entire church service, this is a great option!

Our curriculum, Storymakers, creatively retells stories from the Old and New Testaments through “zines.” Zines are a combination guide, magazine, and workbook. We're starting with a zine called The Stars, and we'll all dive into a journey with Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Jacob. Have you wondered why we hear these names so often in church, and what they mean to us, now? Join us and we'll find out!
